Buddhist Creator Ecosystem : Overview and Goal

Overview

Buddhist content creators have become a key part of the ecosystem that brings users to WeBuddhist. Organic, user generated content (UGC) from these creators is one of our clearest paths to product market fit.

Content creation matters to us for two main reasons: distribution and network. Our goal for this project is:

Sustain and grow the Buddhist content creator ecosystem and spread Buddhist wisdom and compassion to 100 million people by 2030.

So far, our work has been mostly surface level. Through the convention, we brought Buddhist influencers from around the world together and introduced them to the platform. The next step is to help creators take initiative themselves so the ecosystem can sustain itself, for example by forming creator clubs.

What creators told us

When our team asked creators what problems they face when making content, a common theme came up: most only know basic tools. Some had only recently heard of Canva, and many aren’t familiar with current trends such as AI generated thumbnails.

This is where the tech team can help. It’s a win-win: creators get better tools to make content, and WeBuddhist gains users through the content they produce.

The project has three parts:

  1. Buddhist Creator Studio: AI tools that help creators produce content faster
  2. Collab Platform: paid campaign opportunities that make Buddhist content creation sustainable
  3. Buddhist Creator Convention: the community event and its website

1. Buddhist Creator Studio

A huge amount of content is being produced today, so the question is how we help creators produce faster, whether that means writing scripts, generating voice overs (including voice cloning), or creating videos in the style of Higgsfield.

The studio isn’t limited to Buddhist content. It’s built for creators in general, whether their work is about Buddhism or a related space.

Core features

# Feature Notes
1 Thumbnail generation
2 Voice-over Text-to-speech, expanding later to voice cloning
3 Short video generation
4 Script generation Grounded in the WeBuddhist library

Pricing

The studio will be plan-based, since it relies on paid AI tools such as Seedance, and their usage costs need to be covered.

What makes it different

At first glance this could look like just another AI studio. Our differentiator is the connection to the WeBuddhist library: grounded, authentic source texts.

Creators can access these texts directly, and the AI uses them as context through RAG. An agent with tool calling decides when to pull from the library.

Example: A creator asks, “I want to make a short video about the bodhisattva concept.” The agent calls the library tool, retrieves relevant verses, and generates a script based on them.

Next step: TenKal has already done some work on a studio, so connect with him before starting.

2. Collab Platform

The problem

A concern raised in our discussions was sustainability. Creators said that making content only on Buddhist topics doesn’t bring them the revenue or growth that other topics do. If creators can’t earn from it, the ecosystem won’t last.

The solution

A campaign marketplace for Buddhist creators, similar to UGC Tank but focused on the Buddhist space.

How it works:

  1. An institute or organization posts a campaign and pays a small platform fee.
  2. Our admin verifies the campaign, and it goes live.
  3. Creators apply to the campaign.
  4. The organization and creator discuss the project through in platform messaging.
  5. They agree on rates, and the organization pays the creator directly.

We only make the introduction; payments go directly between the organization and the creator. The platform fee goes toward the Studio’s running costs.

Influencer ranking

The platform will use the influencer ranking built by our intern Jampa, giving organizations a clear picture of each creator’s reach.

3. Buddhist Creator Convention

The buddhistcreators.com website will be managed mainly by the creator team, led by Yeniffer and Ten Tsering. The tech team will help where needed, such as adding the registration form and payments.

Workflow: the creator team raises PRs; the tech team reviews and merges them.
